Our Commitment to Safeguarding Adults
At TP Care at Homes Ltd, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that every adult in our care is supported to live safely, with dignity, free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Safeguarding means protecting people’s right to live in safety and making sure concerns are identified and addressed quickly. Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination. Sometimes the signs are not obvious, which is why we take every concern seriously.
What We Do to Safeguard Adults
-
We follow Dorset Council’s safeguarding procedures and work closely with local agencies, the NHS, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
-
All our staff are trained to recognise, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns.
-
We promote a zero-tolerance approach to abuse and poor practice.
-
We encourage clients, families, and the public to speak up if they have any concerns.
-
We ensure every person’s views, wishes, and desired outcomes are central to how we respond – this is known as Making Safeguarding Personal.
How Concerns Are Handled
-
If an adult is at immediate risk of harm, emergency services are contacted right away.
-
Any concerns are reported to our Safeguarding Lead and escalated to Dorset Council’s Safeguarding Adults Team if needed.
-
The Care Quality Commission is notified when appropriate.
-
We work in partnership with families, advocates, and professionals to ensure the best outcome for the person affected.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding Children
At TP Care at Homes Ltd, the safety and wellbeing of children is of the utmost importance. While our main services are for adults, we recognise that we may come into contact with children through our work — for example, when visiting clients’ homes. We have a duty to make sure that every child we encounter is safe, protected, and respected.
Our Promise
-
We believe it is never acceptable for a child to experience abuse of any kind.
-
We are committed to protecting children from physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect, exploitation, and online harm.
-
We ensure that the welfare of the child is always paramount, regardless of their age, culture, background, faith, gender, or ability.
-
We will always listen to and act on the voice of the child.
How We Keep Children Safe
-
Trained Staff: All staff are trained to recognise signs of abuse and to respond quickly and appropriately.
-
Safe Recruitment: We follow strict recruitment checks, including DBS (criminal record) checks, to ensure only suitable people work with us.
-
Clear Reporting: If a child is at risk, our staff must take action immediately. Concerns are reported to the Local Authority Safeguarding Team, the police (if urgent), and the Care Quality Commission when required.
-
Partnership Working: We work closely with local safeguarding partners, health professionals, and councils to ensure children get the right help at the right time.
-
Zero Tolerance: We take all allegations seriously and follow correct procedures if concerns are raised about staff, volunteers, or others in positions of trust.
